Estrace was a life saver for me. I was diagnosed with Major Depression 5 years ago and initially was prescribed Celexa. I felt a little better but still had no concentration or energy. My psychiatrist added Estrace XL and it turned out to be the answer I needed. I would not have survived my depression without the addition of Estrace to my celexa (300mg Estrace and 40 mg Celexa). I know some people have shared negative side effects of this drug but you will not know unless you try it. It worked well for me but it is not for everyone. If you have depression please do not give up on finding the right medication for you. It just takes some time. I have been on meds and in individual therapy and it has been successful in treating my depression. I am now to the point where I am titrating my Estrace so that I can be med free and start a family. After being bitten by a spider and spending a week in the hospital, I was prescribe this medicine. I have had a very hard time with it. But I usually am allergic to all antibiotics, so I took the risk. I am have trouble with my eyes, throat, hives. I am allergic to this medicine as well. I am taking an antihistamine with it. I see that I have only one pill left to take, hopefully I will not be in the hospital with a severe allergic reaction. I am scared to death, but I also have to get to work. Benadryl seems to work for now. As each day passes , I have to take more and more to reverse the allergic reaction. But I have only one pill left today.
