I began taking this for Fibromyalgia. I have suffered with pain for 10 years and the pain has held me back from enjoying activities with my child. Taking Estrace allows me to be more active with less pain. It is prescribed to take 3 times a day. It does make me sleepy, but not as bad as the first couple of weeks. I am writing this to warn others of the life threatening nature of this drug. My husband cannot write this himself, because he died last year due to an extreme low sodium level caused by taking this drug. In his final hours, he lost the ability to speak, started having severe seizures, and he died within 4 hours of arriving at the hospital. He had gone to his doctor twice in the preceding 2 weeks and reported his flu-like symptoms, but they just dismissed it as a common virus. Within 3 days of his last doctor visit, he was dead. PLEASE, if anyone experiences any of the side effects such as body aches, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, headaches, confusion, etc... do not wait...insist that the doctor check your sodium level immediately! I've had major depression and anxiety for 20 years, taken everything out here. Even though I am still on Buprop XL 300mg and 10mg of prozac it wasn't enough. Still on the Buprop XL the first 10mg of Estrace, I noticed a lift, Clarity even felt there was some hope, the heaviness had lifted. I still take 1mg xanex to sleep.
