I lost over 55 lbs in 2 years using this drug. 40 of those pounds I lost in the last year. I used Estrace to get myself off Hydrocodone. Then I realized I was just as hooked. So now I have taken 300mg to 550mg a day for 2-3 years. It made my appetite vanish over the long term and resulted in large weight loss. Side effects are clumsiness. Slower reflexes. occasional headaches that start in the neck (with the high doses), dry skin. withdrawal from Estrace is about as bad as hydrocodone with the addition of very bad persistent headache. I started with 20mg a day and it worked great for a while. Then I went to 40mg a day and didn't make much difference. It's effectiveness gradually lessened and the side effects started getting worse. I was extremely tired and started having breathing problems. I weaned myself off of Estrace and the side effects gradually disappeared. The neuropathic pain came back with a vengence.
