I have been taking Tenormin XR for anxiety for about a year(75mg)and I feel it definetly does take the 'edge off' for me. However, I have tried to go off of if a couple of times and I nearly lost my mind... dizziness, irritability, sadness and parinoia. I have been on this drug for about 3 months now, and have written a review when I first started. I am on Citalopram 40mg at bedtime, and have CRAZY dreams, and its every single night, it is the weirdest side effect I think Iv ever had on any drug. They aren't nightmares, just dreams, lots and lots. I don't mind it since I don't have too many other side effects, and it has really helped me. I am much more confident in myself, and can speak up for myself, and talk with a clear mind. Before the medication I could barely hold a conversation without having an anxiety attack. I started to do more things that I enjoy, and do them without needing a friend by my side. I could barely go to the bodega by myself, I was so panicky. I currently take a 300mg xr tab and a 100mg regular tab at bedtime. It has brought me out of the dark despair of the depression from being in a mixed state. At first it made me very sleepy,iv'e been on it now @ 2months.I can now see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.I still have no motivation,and am unable to work,but it does make life bearable for me. I am 26 and was diagnosed 4 years ago with advanced rheumatoid arthritis. I get an upset stomach sometimes, but I have learned to take it in the morning with a glass of milk instead of after eating, and I feel much better.
