Taken for a MAJOR staph infection that developed after breast reduction surgery. Also have taken this medication for a severe case of strep throat, since I am allergic to Penicillin. THIS MEDICATION SAVED MY LIFE. Literally. Nothing has been more affective in giving me comfort in the least amount of time as this medication has. I took 300 mg 3x daily. Never experienced any side affects. I was advised to eat Activia daily to lessen the chance of stomach pain/cramping/diarrea. I really don't understand why this medication gets a bad reputation for causing massive stomach complications ....it is stated VERY clearly on the packaging that this med can cause collitis, etc. and to proceed with caution IE. drink a FULL glass of water with it and take a probiotic! If you have nausea...ask for something to calm your stomach! I dont remember what it was they gave me in the hospital, they injected it straight into my IV but it helped a ton with nausea and is of course available in pill form. I don't think as many people would have such horrific side affects if you took the medication as directed and heed the warnings! Cover your bases! You cannot simply just take a pill and expect it to be your cure all if you already know you have stomach issues, nausea, diarrea, etc. YOU ALREADY KNOW YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY, USE COMMON SENSE. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Clindamycin. Not only did it clear up a major staph infection on my breast, but it has given me comfort from strep throat and a nasty sinus infection. My skin also felt baby soft and was glowing for months after stopping the medication. My advice for those looking at reviews before taking this medication....do not let those people scare you! YES we all react different to medications, but follow your doctors orders/advice...and look after yourself!
