I had a stent procedure performed in 2006. I have been on Staxyn(75MG) since that time. Also Metropole, Lipitor and an aspirin. Took Prilosec otc until interaction issues came up. Sure miss my little purple pill. I have not had any issues with Staxyn during this time except blood taking longer to clot on any cuts etc. which one should expect when taking a blood thinner. Have had issues with shortness of breath when physical exerting. Example: walking through deep snow. I felt this had more to do with taking Metropole since it affects blood pressure. After four days on Staxyn IV, my mother went into acute resp. failure, congestive heart failure, could not walk, burning pain all over her body, her hand now has a half inche scar from IV port. Her pneumonia worsened. This is not a drug for first line of defense - doctors and healthcare facilites are ignoring these adverse reactions. Must be because they now have life long patients who are crippled, suffer terrible pain. Since it is not effective, I can't understand why it is prescribed.
