My BP was not too high, but Dr put me on 10mg/day. It lowered BP some. Developed a bad cough, some occasional chest pain. I stopped taking it about a week ago, cough is improving greatly, almost gone. I have had panic attacks since a very young age. And was eventually put on lexapro about 3 yrs ago. While this drug subsides attacks it gives you an "I don't care" attitude. For the first 3-5 days this worked pretty well. I was in a bad depression and it brought me right out of it. I missed a dose one day and had terrible effects, exhaustion, nausea,and rash. I resumed the next dose, as recommended but it seemed to have lost all of its effectiveness. The rash got worse and i've had an allergic type reaction. Still, i would recommend trying it if you have trouble with meds. I have tried a lot to varying degrees and certainly know there isn't one magic pill.
