I have been taking Inderal since I was 15 or 16, so about ten years. I had had three grand mal seizures and many simple partial seizures (I thought I was going crazy with frequent dejavu and "seeing" people that weren't there). I love Inderal!! I have not had a single episode since I began taking it, and I haven't had any negative side effects. Remembering to take the pill can be an annoyance, but once I got in the habit it hasn't been a problem. I feel so normal on Inderal- like I don't have a seizure disorder at all. In fact, I almost think my friends believe that I'm perfectly fine and making it all up! I feel perfectly comfortable driving, swimming, climbing ladders, and all the other things they say aren't safe for someone who has seizures. Again, I love Inderal. WONDERFUL DRUG!!! Be forewarned the DEA is pulling licences from psyci., and private practice drs so soon this will be a thing of the past. Buspar is supposed to help just the same but let me say as a person who has to use a service dog to help with the panic attacks, the second drug does nothing. it acts more like a manic reduction drug. i live in IL and all the medical comm. is acting as if they are giving you meth. I started this treatment for an upper respiratory infection. The first two doses made me feel a litte jittery, but the third put me in the ER. I experienced severe ringing in my ears, tremors, rapid heart rate, blood pressure dropped, felt like I had taken a hallucinogenic drug. I will never take this drug again. I Take 200 mg a day for migraines . I had migraines with memory loss for 17 years so when this med came along and it actually worked I was thrilled . It does have side effects though, hair loss, bad taste in mouth, annoying cough, mood swings, nausea(in the beginning of treatment) and no libido, wieght loss is a plus for me.
