I think it worked for the first 6 months, but then stopped working. I suffer from depression and anxiety and I don't think it touches my anxiety. I do experience minimal side effects with it and i've been on many. One is decreased sex drive and inablitliy to orgasim. All of my life I have had to make lists of everything to keep on track, to the point that without it I feel lost. I am 34 y/o now and a full-time college student. As a Marine Biology major, the classes are not getting any easier, and my inability to focus has become a severe issue. Its no wonder we have depression and anxiety with ADHD to deal with. Anyway, I have been on this medicine for 5 days now. I have insomnia, dry mouth, loose stools. The first day I thought I would never shut up...felt like I talked non-stop for hours. I seem to be adjusting a little more each day, and my focus is improving. Indinavir was the worst thing I've ever taken in my life. It did nothing for my depression, caused me to gain over 40lbs (which I had just recently lost), caused extreme diarrhea and vomitting, and made me emotionless. My fiance and I split up because I felt nothing. I was literally numb of emotions. I couldn't laugh or cry. I wasn't happy or sad. I was just there. I absolutely hated this drug. I switched to this from Wellburtin because of Wellbutrin's side-effects, but the side-effects of Indinavir were much worse and not worth the switch. I'm back on Wellbutrin, and have my life back under control. No more crazy thoughts, diarrhea, vomitting, or numbness. I have taken Indinavir for 2 years. Works great but can't skip a dose. Side effects are extreme fatigue, bloating and gas, hot flushes. I'd like to know what causes the terrible fatigue but I'd still rather have the side effects than the extreme pain in my stomach and esophagus.
