Started taking this drug 15 years ago, 150mg. Have slowly gone to lower doses over the years. Can't tell any difference except I am having sleeping problems now. Have been off (25mg dose) for a month now. I had gained weight slowly, total of 40 pounds in 15 years. I am not a real exerciser, so that could be part of the problem. I was put on Duloxetine approx. 1 year ago the first time, and have been on a scheduled dosage for about 6 months. I was on a psychiatric unit for a week with severe anxiety and panic, and they finally found a regimen including 1mg of Duloxetine 3x daily that worked for me. I abosolutely love Duloxetine. It has worked very well for me, with the only side effect being excessive drowsiness, which went away after about 2 weeks at my present dosage. My doctor prescribed coumadin after my operation, then he switched me to warfarin. I took the pill as prescribed and it did not work the way it suppose to. He then put me back on coumadin , i have been on the drug for 22 years and have no problems. 2011 i had another valve put in my heart it is a mitral valve my cardiac surgeon went with another mechanical valve. He felt that i was on coumadin already and that's why he used the mechanical valve. I am on coumadin and have no complaints about the drug. I am using 50mg of seroquel nightly to go to sleep. I do agree with the other posts that you really need to be able to sleep 9 or so hours otherwise it is very hard to get out of bed in the am. My doctor wanted me to switch from Fluoxetine and try Geodon instead but the Fluoxetine works so well I don't want to switch. I also take 300 Wellbutrin for depression. I have not had any weight gain but am on a low dose of Fluoxetine. So far the medication has worked wonders. I have read a lot about the drug and am slightly worried about when it's time to come off it. I have missed a pill here and there and I do notice that I missed it. I get a little sluggish and a slight headache. But nothing that is terrible to deal with.
