I started taking Ceftin in 1993 for high anxiety which gave me no time between an angry thought and my vicious reaction. I raged at people, quit jobs compulsively, and so forth. I was out of control and, of course, could not sleep or stay asleep. Trazodone (75 mg at bedtime) first gave me the space between the anger and the reaction. I could think, "No, don't respond." I had never had that moment to think. As time passed, I stopped feeling the free-floating anger. I was able to work through incest-related issues (and justifiable rage) that I had blocked for 35 years. That work took several years, but I am finally able to live with and understand myself. My adult daughters have calmed down, as they no longer need to fear my rage or sobbing fits. I quit drinking years ago - something I did alcoholically to try to kill the pain and quiet my screaming mind. I still suffer with SAD from Nov to March, but for that I have recently switched from Lexapro to Wellbutrin due to 20 lb. weight gain (from size 6 to 10), but that's seasonal. I was prescribed Ceftin to take with a potent antibiotic which has a common side effect of upset stomach and nausea. I am the poster child for stomach side effects caused by medication. First time I took both and immediately starting feeling nausea. This continued for 2 days so I consulted with WebMD and learned from other reviews that Ceftin was causing nausea. Just a WARNING: Worst Drug I've ever been given for my crappie flops. I had such terrible side effects from irritability, agitation, mood swings, depression to a short temper and I would blow up on the most petty things & that cost me a few friends. When I told my dr. he ignored the serious side effects and said Well you've always had a temper and been moody with me?? I was stunned. I mean this to me is neglect!! Although I have since slowly cut my dose in half and found myself having less seizures, and been told I'm more laid back and not aggressive or short tempered anymore. I think the dose I was taking was causing such anxiety and aggression that it was causing me to have anxiety seizures. So to me this proves that the dr.s in my region are in it for the $$$ only and Just playing a guessing game in a white coat, and getting rich doing it! If I had a problem at all with this drug I would say it would be that it slows my pulse rate to a faint sound and Doctors and Nurses can't hear my pulse at times. It is a little scary. I told them not to bury me until they prove I'm really dead because of this problem. by BORIS from Richlands, NC
