Avodart is one of four medications i take. the others are metropolol 50, zicor 50 and flomax .4....I have an allergy to something. I get hives and rash over varying parts of my body at different times of the day. Prior to taking zicor, I was on lipitor, which was stopped by my Allergist then changed to zicor by my Cardiologist. It is the only med that lets me sleep within an hour of taking it and lasts 3 straight hours!!! BUT, I just heard they went sexist on WOMEN. Isn't in 2013? Now only 5 mg can be allowed. I was taking 10 mg. for years. I haven't slept more than 1 hour at a time and it takes me 6 hours to go to sleep. After a bout of shingles in 2009 the excrutiating pain never went away. 6 doctors and many medications later, 50mg.of LYRICA 3 times a day along with 50mg. of tramadol twice a day (if needed) has made the debilitating pain of PHN decrease by 80-90%; which is fine by me. The side effects only lasted a week for me which included fogginess and slight dizziness. It's been a God send for me. I believe that any drug has side effects and every drug is not for everyone.
