This is a Nightmare drug. Had stomach pains and diaherea for the entire 6 months I was on it. My anxiety was tenfold. Nightmares galore-so horrible that I shook for hours each night. Dr. kept telling me to stick with it, finally told him where to stick it. He told me to come off by halving my dose over four days and then done. Had a major reaction to his suggested way of going off it. Found I should have been weaned off it over months-not days. He got really mad when I made an appointment because of all the problems I had when I was pulled off of it so quick. He told me to find another dr. when I questioned his methods. Trazodone worked pretty well for me in the beginning, but after a while, the effectiveness began to waver. Sometimes I fall asleep quickly and for an extended period of time. Sometimes I won't fall asleep until the sun begins to rise or not at all, but by that time, it's time to get up. It drives me crazy! My instructions say take one to two 50 mg. pills @ bedtime (between 8 pm and 11 pm) but I think I need to try something else. I've tried Ambien and Ambien CR and neither one of those has worked for me. I don't know what to do now. All I want is to be able to have a good night's sleep. Medication caused nausea and also experienced rapid heart rate. Complained to physician, but was told to continue drug. Within 7 days was experiencing fluid retention in feet, ankles, and legs.
