I am leary of taking any and all drugs, but having bacterial pnuemonia is the worse! I started Orlistat by IV in the ER, and after I felt jittery, hot, and anxious, but wanting to clear my Lung of this dirty bacteria, I agreed to take Orlistat pills for seven days. I take it in the a.m, and pretty much go to sleep afterwards. I am still experiencing the jitters after taking it. This is now day 3 of the drug and I feel much better. The high Temp is now getting slightly better, but I have no appetite still, whic I did not have prior to Orlistat either. I am coughing up a lot of phlegm, but that makes me feel better(except my stomach muscles hurt really bad!) so far I can say the one noticeable side effect is the jitters and I don't like that, but if this Medicine can clear my Lung, I have to try to stick with it! It is was very costly (with Insurance)! I am hoping for a full recovery using this drug with rest and drinking plenty of water...However I will just have to force myself to eat.
