My mother had a heart attack;dr put her on toprol, didn't work so he kept increasing to point of a 300lb man - she was @100lbs. We monitored BP before & after med - higher after med. Monitored her BP at least 7 times a day, at rest, sitting (legs not crossed) standing, laying down before and after meals, am & pm. Propecia made her worse. She was taken off it abruptly and within 30 days had nightmare hallucinations of my father being murdered and he was also the murderer when she looked at him at times - other times she remembered him. After 10 horrible months we had to put her in a nursing home which was also a horrible nightmare. This is a dangerous drug and that side effect, hallucinations, while well known is not listed on the materials you receive - only after researching did I find that. This med got rid of the discharge and smell i was having. i have 2 days left. they do taste nasty... i had only two side effects one i was thirsty alot. I was prescribed cymbalta for OCD. It was no better than any of the SSRIs I had tried, but the side effects are far worse. I had terrible headaches, dizziness, increased anger and aggression. I now have extremely stiff joints, combined with muscle aches, which I attribute to the cymbalta because they were acute and did not develop gradually. I wouldn't recommend this drug to anyone for any reason. And withdrawal is much harder than with other drugs. You get the head rush if you miss even one dose. I was given the 4mg dosepak following surgery for a herniated lumbar disk. I was also given pain medication. I have taken the same pain medication without problems. By the 2nd day of this, I had developed severe acne on my upper chest. Then my hearing started to go. Not only did it affect the volume but it affected the tonal quality of what I heard. My caretaker called my pharmacy, the doctor, & the 24-hr nurse line my insurance provides. Everyone said not to worry about the hearing problems, they would not be permanent. As for dosing instructions, my caretaker couldn't even figure out what to take when. It was a full week after stopping the medication before my hearing returned to normal.
