I've been on this drug for four years this month,and wouldn't think of living without it ! I am on day 7 of 37.5mg (taking 1st thing in the morning). I have noticed increased energy, decreased cravings, and decreased appitite. I cannot eat as much at one sitting so I eat 6 times a day (could just be an apple and that satisfies me). I exercise for 30mins 5days a wk. I feel great! I have lost 10lbs in 7days!!!!! I have been using Oxycontin 80mg, 3 times a day for about 1 and 1/2 years now. I works fantastic. I also am aware of the really bad side effects you experience when you run out of your meds. I get treatment through the VA and they arent always punctual with getting me my medication on-time. Believe me when I say that it only takes a few hours after missing a dose to start experiencing withdrawl symptoms. After 24 hours you are just plain SICK! Make sure that you are aware of what you will be going through when it is time to get off this medication before you start. The medication is a God send, but it is VERY hard to get off of. Take it as a last resort to any other type of treatment, because you will be very ill when it is time to stop. My husband was diagnoseed with Congestive Heart failure and then he got pneumonia which left brutal scarring of his lungs. The doctor prescribed this drug..So far, he is breathing much better..He is on a regiman of 6 pills for 2 days 4 pills for 2 days, 2 pills for 2 days and then 1 pill a day for the rest of the month..He had nausea the first day, but he did not eat anything until later.The Pulmonary doctor says he can only do this regiman once...He feels the side effects are to severe.. by DUDLEY from Cullman, AL
I have been taking Cymbalta for one week. The first two days I experinced night sweats,and the last 5 days more anxiety than usual and I take anti-anxiety meds. I have tried all kinds of antidepressants with Celexa working well for several years. When my depression started getting worse the Dr decided to try me on Cymbalta. My mood and enery level has dramatically increased. I do feel kind of loopy, but that may be due to the "cocktail" of meds I currenty take (klonipin, abilify and sleep meds). I feel this is really going to work for me,just waiting a few weeks to get the full effects. I did have two episodes where I came home in the afternoon (3-4pm)fell asleep and did not wake until the next morning!This has me worried if it keeps occuring I will have to speak with my Dr. I am afraid of some of the stories of withdrawal from this medicine.If anyone has stopped it without major symptoms, please post so I will know.
