I have fibromyalgia, and take several other meds. I tried to get off of this one because of the high cost, and felt much more pain, migraines, much worse depression, and I wanted to commit suicide. I was prescribed this for a swollen foot that I had sprained slightly. After only 4 days of use, the swelling & pain did not go away. Then the vomiting started. I had a quack psychiatrist prescribe a maximum manufactures suggested dosage of this drug and it was within manufacturers guideline but I felt like this doctor was getting some sort of kick backs from drug companies or something to kick expensive drugs because he would never prescribe a generic and he took me off drugs that worked and put me on drugs like this that did not work. I have been bipolar for years and have used many drugs and this is the worst of all of them. One night I started getting really confused while doing my job as a route delivery driver to retail stores. I called my father who is elderly because I did not know what else to do and I was confused. He called my employer and took me to the hospital. It struck me as odd right off the bat that they put me in a room with a person with liver failure? Then finally after days of testing a group of 4 doctors visited me before I was released and gave me the diagnosis. I had hepatic encephalopothy or water on the brain from a liver problem they claimed was caused by this drug. While I made a full recovery I must say that when they say on the television "liver problems sometimes fatal" have been reported they mean it. Of course the original prescribing doctor wanted to argue with the diagnosis of the 4 hospital doctors and I told him off and fired him in a dramatic way. Now after years on meds for bipolar I must say I think this is the most dangerous drug I have ever taken and I cannot urge people enough to try other options before trying this drug. Water on your brain is a sign of a failing liver and my doctors insist that this drug caused it.
