This is my second time reviewing Topomax and I am so pleased with it! The last time I posted something was a month ago and I had gotten my first migraine since I started taking Topomax (100 mg). That migraine only lasted about 4 days, which is awesome for me because normal attacks last about 2 weeks. The last migraine that I had was a couple of weeks ago and it only lasted 3 days and I'm pretty sure it was due to the fact that I started a new birth control (my migraines are hormonal). So, I probably wouldn't have even gotten that attack if I hadn't started this new birth control. The side effects have really subsided. I only notice the tingling of the hands and feet about half as much. Soda doesn't taste quite as bad as it used to, but still not like normal. My concentration is much improved. I can't say the same for my memory though or my vision. I do have a new side effect to add to the list, heartburn and indigestion! I feel like I'm having a heart attack sometimes the indigestion's so bad. Oh and I've lost some more weight, 7 pounds total, yay! I have been on this med fo almost 9 yrs. started off with depakote sprinkles but that wasn't working, so switched to the pills. works very well. i do agree it has mad me have an increased appitite. Overal i would recommend it. by ARNOLD from Orleans, IN
My son has been on Tadora for a "Simple Partial Seizure condition since he was 15 months old. This drug is messed up. Did it slow down his seizure episodes? I guess. What I think it did do was take away crucial years of his development. It made him spacey, kept him up at night, he threw the occasion fit. I wish I could go back in time to the day we agreed to put him on this crap & tell the doctor to piss off. We're in the process of weaning him off topamax, & he is now taking Keppra.
