This medicine is very good. With the extended release, it helps my mood. I have more positive thinking, me being more social with my friends, and just all around in general good spirits. But, with every medicine it has its downfalls. I'm take 225 mg a day, with that being I have a very difficult time sleeping and my anxiety has increased drastically. But the benefits outweighs the risk. I rarely have suicidal thoughts and feel safe about myself. I started off with a few other medications, which eventually worn off. While taking Endep I wasn't depressed, but I wasn't really there either. Endep sent me into this cloudy, nauseated fog with tremendous headaches and the desire to be reclusive. I HATED it!!! Methacarbamol almost killed me. I was born with a low heart rate and taking 500mg /3 times a day was a fatal dose for my body;it slowed my heart rate to a level that got me admitted to the intensive care unit. I am a 39-year old female, and have had symptoms of general anxiety for the last 3 months, after a period of about 2-1/2 years of constant stress. My doc prescribed 20mg 1x/day for mild depression/anxiety. I started this med on a Sat night, and although was exhausted couldn't sleep at all Sun night. Mon morning I had nausea (expected short-term side effect) and was sick, then very anxious and jittery all day. Tues nausea was better, but anxiety still there, I was shaking all over. Called doc who said to reduce to 1/2 dose. Did that for two days with some reduction in symptoms but still not great...Wed ok, Thurs very anxious. Doc has now taken me off this med and I'm back to xanax. Said it's not a common reaction, but does happen. I have been on this drug for 4 months. I am on 40mg. My depresssion has been basically relieved but I am extremely irritable and agitated. My mind is foggy and I can't think straight. Simple things I have to write down now to remember and I didn't do that before. I was excited at first, but had to go back to the Dr. to get weaned off.
