I started taking this med for tremors a week ago. After only a couple days of a 60m dosage 1ce a day, I started feeling very sick. Felt like vomiting, feverish, extremely tired & my shaking actually got worse while on it. I called up my doc & he told me to quit taking it so I did. A couple days latter, I suddenly felt numbness in my left foot that spread to most of my body after only a couple hours. I also felt some back pain, extremely weak & like I was going to faint. I started shaking a lot worse too. I went to my doc again cuz I still have the numbness in my foot & my foot also feels extremely cold. My doc thinks it may be a temporary side effect from the med. Hospitalized four days with severe bronchitis. I have a tracheostomy and this made for difficut breathing. Allergic reactions to two IV antibiotics. Sent home with 6 day pack. It saved my life! I was so riddled with anxiety I didn't want to continue to live that way. I have little to no anxiety now, I can laugh again and focus on things other than the "what if's"! I have gained a lot of weight. 40-50 lbs! Partly because food is not the enemy anymore. Even with a diet and exercise I am unable to loose any of it. I have also lost my sex drive but I think it may be due to the unattractiveness of my current heavy state, not a side effect specifically. I hesitate to go off as I can feel the anxiety if I forget to take it. Do I stay on it forever? How do I cope with the anxiety with out it? How much more weight will I gain? Is being fat and unhappy better for me than being anxious and unhappy? Will I have horrible withdrawls if I wean off? these are some things I still need to find out. First time taking a zpack. Prescribed the 250mg. Took 2 (Day 1), 1 (Day 2) & 1 (Day 3) & not taking anymore!
