I was having trouble with my mood swings related to my monthy hormones, in addition my PMS symptoms would start 3 weeks before my period. I asked my dr about my situation and she suggested this drug. I have had migraines since I was 18 years old and have been on everything you can think of with no relief. I went to a neurologist who specializes in migraines and he put me on generic topamax 50mg. twice a day. After 2 days sodas tasted bad, tingling in the hands and feet started. I was raised after 1 month to 100mg twice a day and developed hyperventilation. I would vacuum 1 room in my house and thought I had just run a marathon. He bumped me back to 50mg morning and 100mg at night. That took care of that. The headaches are not as severe and I do not have them as often. However I changed pharmacy's because of a byout and got a different manufacturer of the generic I was taking and the 150mg. I was taking was not working. He had to bump me back up to 200mg a day but I breathe ok. He says the generic companies put different kinds of fillers in their products and my body was not responding the that particular filler. I don't know if I agree with generics but BEWARE of generics and check the manufacturer when you get one that works and make sure you get the same one each time. I still use Lortab and Fiorinal and I also see a pain specialist too. I have occipital neuralga (check spelling) and get injections for that. Whatever you do never give up on seeking help for you migraines. They are take away your life and once you finally can get the relief you deserve it is sooooooooo amazing.
