I was in a car wreck on 5-24 and my doctor took me off my Meloxicam (for my back)and started me taking this twice a day for injury to my right shoulder. Also on Hydrocodone every 6 hours or as needed. I am not that impressed with this. He spoke of this being a wonderful drug to bring down swelling and that hasn't happened. And when taken with the Hydrocodone, I get so "drugged" I can not function. Even my 11 year old commented on how "close to dead" I looked after taking the 2 together as prescribed. I have been taking this med for about 7 months. One month ago I developed severe hip pain that I really could not pin point an episode of trauma to cause it. My doc diagnosed it as piriformis syndrome. The pain is incredible and nothing seems to mitigate the degree of pain. This web site makes me suspicious of the statin. I was on 150 mgs for approx.7 months.It really helped me for some time.Started to get depressed again,shakes,fog like symtoms. decided to wean down ..try a different med. getting off this medication has been the hardest yet.I am now down to 37.5 mgs. You must do under the care of a doctor,side effects so risky.. will only be on lower dose for about 4 more days,then try a different medication..I have tried so MANY anti depressants over the past 6 years.Remembering that one must work with the drug,via do your part daily also.. This drug did help me during the loss of my mother to cancer.Yes,I would recommend to others..But as I said,the weening effects are terrible.. best of luck to all that deal with some form of chemical imbalance.May our society be more nurturing to the illness that one can not see outside of the body.
