In 2001 I had ITP,the spleen was eating my white count. Ask your doctor for Ativan to help with skittsy feelings and confusion. I was given 160 mgs per day for 2 months to try to trick my spleen into returning to normal. ITP is a juvenile disease of unknown cause, and I was 51 . It didnot work and I had my spleen removed. I lost about 6 weeks of time. I was told by my family that I would move things around and then I would not know where they were when I needed them. I was working for the phone comp. and would wander around around and cry at the office. My face got very round and I gained 40lbs. It was a horriable experience. I did have to take the drug again last year for an upper respatory infection, but was only on it for 10 days at a low dose and it worked. i take 2-1mg everynight before bed. sometimes i take 3-1 mg if i'm in having a stressful time (take this for axiety,nervousness,and chronic trouble sleeping) i am nervous taking more then my dr says will i overdose? i dont want that but there are days when i want to just sleep so i take 3, sleep all day then wake up for a while then ready to go back to sleep and take my 2. now is there anyone perscribed a higher dosage then 2mg a day? i dont want to overdose i just want some sleep! thanks for anyone who would answer me. stephs987@live.com by RUSTY from Thatcher, ID
The best way to take Ambien (or Zolpidem) is on a completely empty stomach. Doesn't work otherwise. I mean, don't eat for at least 3 hours before taking it. Which can be annoying if you eat at 7 or 8. I can't take it until at least 11. And for those people who say they get knocked out and sleep great, ask someone who sleeps with you if you really do!! Seriously, if I don't have everything done at night, I will get up and do it all, like laundry, unloading the dishwasher, etc. I broke a glass one time and didn't even remember until the next morning I had a huge gash in my foot. My husband couldn't believe I didn't remember. Hey, I still wake up refreshed, all more chores get done and I don't even remember doing it!! Personally, I think it's great!! Althought I do end up taking more pills without remembering, so I always end up short at the end of the month. That parts annoying!! Wish I didn't have to rely on it, but gotta admit, I do love the side effects!! Name brand works better that generic, but of course, more expensive!! Oh Well! Oh yeah, make sure you turn off your computer before you take it!! I have been known to e-mail highly nonsensical things to people, which is cause for huge embarrasment later! Get big double vision when I take it, so watching TV I find I cover one of my eyes to be able to see.
