I didn't last 6 mon. on this medication. I started on Dilantin and didn't tolerate that well, and then I tolerated the Provera even worse. I'm in the military and have no choice but to be active. I was told normal side effect is to lose about 7 lbs with loss of appetite. I had to force myself to eat and after I lost close to 30 lbs my Dr. decided it was time to try something else (I now take Keppra). I had terrible tingling sensations in my arms, legs, hands, and feet; even worse in cold weather or after strenuous activity. I had the hardest time remembering the smallest details, I had to write everything down to make sure I didn't forget to do something. It also dried me up, I felt as if I couldn't drink enough water. This medication worked as far as preventing seizures, but the side effects were terrible. I have been on Keppra for over a year now and still have not fully recovered from the effects of the Provera. I still find myself getting tongue tied over words. It almost seems as if a part of my life was erased, I still have difficulty remembering things from the past.
