My 18 year old son has been on Naprosyn for well over a year. He has ADHD Inattentiveness. For the last four months we have been decreasing his dosage. His grades have gone through the roof as has his confidence. However, he has lost 30lbs, is never hungry, has som OCD habits and his sleep patterns are totally screwed. We have allowed him to not take his meds on Friday-Sunday so that he can eat, sleep and feel like his old self. But then on Monday, it is like starting completely over. They don't tell you that when combined with misprostol (Arthrotec) that it causes extreme diarrhea, for hours. It would've been nice to know. It helped relieve the pain better but at what cost? Go for the Diclofenac EC (coated) tablet for longer lasting pain relief. But once it wears off, it takes twice as much to get you out of pain again (as is with many pain killers). Don't take at night, can causes gastic reflux. It doesn't make you sleepy but can cause stomach issues which is why the EC (coated) ones work better. Took 450mg for 11 months for sciatic nerve damage with neuropathy. Worked ok but caused me to gain 80 pounds which hindered my recovery and also we have now discovered I have epilepsy and I was suffering from seizures and the Naprosyn was not effective in controlling them. I was prescribed this medication for an upper respiratory infection. The dosage was 2 pills daily for 10 days and on the 9th day I developed an allergic reaction to the ingrediant sufla (found in this drug). I broke out into hives and woke up with a swollen lip and red eyes.
