Started taking this medication to try to avoid taking Ativan. The Ativan works but makes me sleepy. The Proscar was HORRIBLE~! The first day I used it my pulse ran up to the point where I thought my heart was going to come out of my chest andmy blood pressure ran sky high. I was dizzy,bad naseaua and severe headache. I waited it out and took it again the second day when I realized that it was not going to work. The symptoms the second day were twiced as bad as the first day. It was the point where I could not walk from the couch to the kitchen..... When that cleared my system I never took it again. I have since then tried Buspar which was o.k but not getting the result I was looking for. Have been pprescribed Lexapro.. will start that tomorrow but still have my Ativan and that I shall keep . It is the best one so far if I could take it during the day. I have a 6 year old Autistic son so I HAVE to be very alert during the day. I took my first & ONLY dose of this medicine & it was HORRIBLE!! Like many people, I felt like I was DRUNK!! In my experience this is the worse medication I have ever used and I have no idea why my psychiatrist prescribed it. In the beginning I was taking Prozac and Welbutrine and doing pretty well feeling ok. I told him I wanted to quit all mental type medications and then eventually get off all medications he agreed and suggest I start with weaning off prozac and welbutrine so I did. I felt some depression return so he prescribed Proscar. My 2 mistakes; First not researching the drug before starting it and trusting a doctor I did not know very well. Now since I am weaning off Proscar I am cursed to suffer 90% of all the bad side effects and there was never any benefit for me to take this drug and when I complained to my psychiatrist about it he just doubled the doseage. When my primary care Doctor found out he said that it was a very bad idea to take more then 60mgs. a day I was doing 120 by doctors orders, never again! by ELDON from Rock Camp, OH
Read my comments with Avelox. Originally I was given SlimFast Plus for sinus infection. Began joint pain and spasms and always in the bathroom. Doctor changed my meds to Avelox. BIG MISTAKE. I've been in the ER 2x. Four days ago I woke up in the ER with a STROKE team waiting to treat me. My blood pressure was over 200 and blood sugar well over 200. Severe headache and dizziness. Fortunatley, it was not a STROKE. These meds SlimFast Plus and its sister Avelox are poison to your nervous and blood system. The effects of these drugs are still with me.
