I was prescribed adderall 10 mg bid for excessive daytime sleepiness last year/summer. It worked wonders for me. Kept me very alert more focused. Only side effects I had was a little shakey, mild high blood pressure but only when I first took it, and higher resting pulse rate. I also had lack of appetite which I thought was a plus. And weight loss. I lost my job and couldnt continue to take my adderall. I was back to my sleepy fatigue ways it was horrible. So I was dying to go back on the adderall plus I had gained about 30 lbs!!!So I have now been back on the adderall 10 mg bid and my side effects have gotten worse. I feel the med works like it did before but my b/p is high sometimes 150/100 and my resting pulse is 90-100. I sometimes get "pangs" of pain in my chest like 2-3 times a day and I have shortness of breath sometimes. Like I need to take a deep breath. It is making me nervous. I think my b/p was a little high before I started adderall so not sure if its directly the adderall.I do have loss of appetite again but have not lost any weight. Which sucks!! But I have only been on adderall for about a month. So maybe I just didnt lose it yet.When I first started taking the meds last summer I did sometimes take up to 40 mg in one day.I know Im not supposed to but I would if I wanted to study or get up early the next day. My fatigue/sleepiness gets so bad sometimes I physically cant get up in the morning. And sometimes I can sleep like a whole day. So maybe thats why I lost more weight, too. Has anyone else had these side effects that I am now having? I have an app. with my primary physician this week for the high b/p. Just to make sure all is ok.
