dont particularly like this drug. I have heard some bad things about it, therefore I was and still am scared to take this drug. Was not told before this was prescribed what this type of drug this was and that I can not go off this drug with help! NOt it is too late. It doesnt even help my pain that much and the doctor is trying to find the right dosage that will help my pain. Not helping me that well and I have been on this now for apprx. 2-3 mths. seroquel is a very mysterious drug. having been on it for years it seemed to calm many over acting thoughts. of course there is the weight gain but that did not effect my view on this med. i weened off sucessfully, but then put back on for reasons unknown. thats when i realized the outstanding unacceptable side effects. 200mg pill sent me into a nightmare of out of control physical behavior. spasms, jaunting muscles, seizure type episodes, than hospitalization. i decided to look into this med, and discovered the negative side effects highly outstand the possitive in many case studies. this med is at the end of its patent, and is being pushed to patients in high measures. costly, it needs to sell before generics are able to replace it. seroquel barely passed fda regs and i know why. diabeties,extreme weight gain, dillusinal behavior. the sedation aspect as many complain about pales in comparison to how mind altering this drug can be in many,many patients. im underwhelmed, to say the least, this med is rxed to sooooo many. start with very low doseage, and do research. a good alternative is thorzine. it may be oldschool, but its been around so long for a reason. i worry seroquel is pushed too hard on every diagnoses ones dr invents. meds are hugely profitable to many players in this field. by the way, as many know, the makers of seroquel are and have been sued with numerous cases pending. god bless if it works but if you suffer its evil do not be talked into a abusive relationship with this med. long term effects may insue. p.s. sorry for the poor spelling. that i wont blame on seroquel. by BROOKS from Cosby, MO
I am on 25 mg for the symptoms of overactive thyroid, and it has helped immensely. The palpatations, tachycardia, anxiety, diarrhea, tremors, are all gone. The only problem is I was getting really dizzy so I have been cutting them in half...still works, just a little light headed at times, and my BP is always low to begin with, this drug makes it lower. Also, my feet are always cold now, and really white...I need to get off this med and get the radiation to my thyroid soon, but in teh mean time, it has helped alot! by ELDON from Monterey, MA
