I've been on Ambien for yrs and most of the time it worked great for me until I was giving the Teva brand. I'm not sure what the difference is but there is a big difference. I took 1 10mg as I was going to bed and after an hour of lying in bed waiting for sleep to come, I got back out of bed and took another one. After another hour and no sleep, I took another half and still had a hard time sleeping. 25mg should have put me and a grown horse to sleep but it didn't. I slept about 3 hours and decided to forget it. I took 2 10mg at the same time the next night and as you can see it's not working tonight either. I take Standard ED Pack for Neuropathic pain and FM. I also take Kadian. The two work well together. I have been taking for 6 months without side effects. Now my hands and feet are swollen and my pants dont fit. I was worried that it was something with my heart until I read all these reviews. I will talk to my Dr. about reducing dosage or something. This medication has helped a lot with my stomach pain and cramping. I have also noticed that it has helped restore function to my bowel. I went from being constipated and having bowel movements every 2 - 3 days to having bowel movements every day, 1 to 2 times a day. I had increased my fiber intake to try to restore function to my bowel before, but to no avail. I also drink more than 8 glasses of water a day, and I go to the gym 5-6 days a week. I take the medication 3 times a day, and I have noticed that if I forget to take my doses (the stomach pain and cramping has been greatly reduced since starting this med), I become slightly constipated (only for a day, day and a half).
