I was taking this for tension in my neck and vertigo. I was on it for only 2.5 weeks and had to stop because it was VERY addictive. I was supposed to be taking 2 a day but ended up taking 3-5 (as needed) a day. I stopped cold turkey because it was making me very sick. i have to type with my right hand because i'm in so much pain on my left side, behind my knee and left wrist. can barely walk. just got a presription of prednisolone dose pack. hopefully that will clear things up i took avelox the first day about 3pm with a late lunch. got up and immediatedly felt dizzy and thought i was going to throw up, sat back down rather quickly and the feeling subsided. slept well that night. woke up the next day and my hacking cough was gone, still have the mucus though. decided to take it one more time. BIG MISTAKE couldn't sleep that night, couldn't taste anything, except a salty taste. on the third day is when i felt all the pain, the decided to go on-line to see side effects. thank goodness we have websites like this to share info about avelox. still have cotton mouth, drinking lots of water i WILL NEVER TAKE THIS DRUG AGAIN AND BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET.
