I was taking Norco, but I didn't want to become dependant on anything so I asked my doctor for something else. So, he prescribed Tramadol. I have been taking Tramadol for three months now. (I have had migraines since I had my baby in November.) It really helps with my head, but I stopped taking it abruptly and had major withdrawels. I had the shakes, anxiety attacks, diarrhea, severe weakness, thoughts of suicide and sweat uncontrolably. I spoke with my neurologist this morning and he is going to help me wean off of it. I have been on Fluoxetine and Maxalt(Only take the Maxalt when I get a Migraine) for about 3 months now. 200mgs a day, started at the lowest and am now at what my doctor feels is best for me. it has helped the pain of the Migraines, I have lost 9 lbs, but the tingling, numbness and sometimes complete loss of feeling from the elbows down is quite debilitating. That alone lasts at least 4hrs sometimes all day, Cognitive and motor skills are being effected and the weird smeary vision is driving me crazy. I am a Cosmetologist and need my hands to perform my work everyday and am finding this hard to deal with. I am thinking perhaps my dosage is too high and am waiting for a return call from my Neurologist. Other side effects include a feeling as if my brain has fallin asleep, numb and tingly. Face, neck, and spine feel tingly and it moves about all day long. Has anyone else had these experiences?? This is everyday, all day... I am thankful for the relief of the pain but I am not so sure these side effects are worth the wait, as I have read most reviewers say they do subside with time. I am feeling at this point with the higher dose they are getting worse. I am not comfortable changing the dosage myself as you cannot just stop taking this type of med. you must taper down. I feel possibly 100 mgs per day would be better for me but would rather have the Doctor make that decision. I also have found that with more physical activity the side effects become worse too. so very strange... In the meantime I will continue on and wait for that call... by WILLIAM from Mayfield, NY
