I began taking this medication for A.D.D. while in college, 25 mg once a day. It was alternative to Ritalin and other stimulants, which I took from the fourth until the tenth grade. Arava kept my mind clear; I didn't have a thousand thoughts racing through my head, and kept me real calm and quiet, but hyperactivity isn't an issue with me. I was able to stay much more organized with daily routines. My grades didn't change. The cons (side effects) I've experienced include the following: irritablility (meaness towards others), drymouth to no extent, headaches (drinking water helped with this), sexual side effects, some depression, dizziness, drowsiness, sneezing (I took an antihistamine to control this pseudo allergy symptom, which made me even more drowsy), and nausea.
