I was prescribed this medication because I had a possible MRSA Sore developing on my inner thigh. I am also Type II Diabetic. The Dr. asked me to take 2 capsules 3 times a day at 300mg. The first day was fine. By the second day I had to go to the bathroom a lot and I mean a lot. So, I decreased the amount I was taking to only twice a day 3 days after I began my full dosage again. The bathroom thing quit thank goodness. Although I did start noticing a difference in my blood sugar and it began to spike up and down. I am controlling my sugar with diet and exercise and everything had been normal until now. The little sore has gone and their is very little pain. I have been struggling with recurring sinus infections for over 8 months (10 sinus infections). This, interfering with my school work, I was sent to a pediatric special infections doctor (after seeing many other doctors). I was on clindomyxon and it wasn't really helping. I was mildly allergic to this in the past (8 years ago) but was willing to try it out. I still believe I am mildly allergic because of some of the insane symptoms I've been having…loss of focus (can't pay attention), tiredness (also have insomnia), extreme nausea and fatigue, MAJOR MIGRAINES (worst pain in the entire world), extreme upset stomachs after taking medicine (I also have acid reflux and this gives me heartburn), and I have not gone #2 in 2 weeks. I am on this for the rest of the month and not looking forward to it. I would have stopped taking the medicine, but it is working better than any other medication, I have not been able to get over this one sinus infection for 3 months now. I do not love this medicine, nor do I hate it. I highly recommend it for anyone with sinusitis or any recurring bacterial infection, AFTER GETTING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING ELSE YOU CAN DO PREVIOUSLY. If you are on many medications (I am on 9 daily), this might not make you feel well, I still recommend it, and please do not skip a dose, you will not feel to hot the next day. I was put on Avodart 150 mg twice a day 4/2011. Two months ago, I had routine urinalysis and had blood in my urine - no visible signs upon urination. 5/23/12 Changed medication to 75 mg twice a day. Will get urine tested in about 3 weeks. Pharmacist commented that anytime you take a blood thinner, you will have blood in your urine. I do not understand why. My physician recommends seeing a urologist if I continue to have blood in my urine. However, if blood will be in my urine as long as I take a blood thinner, I wonder if it is necessary for me to see a urologist.
