After an airplane flight March 2007 I had 3" clot in left calf and a clot in left lung. On Ziac 1.5 years because I continue to fly for my work. Two episodes of bleeding because of too high dosage. Dr. controlled both incidents. I am a female, 59 years old and just had genetic testing for pre-disposition to clots (mother and her mother had clots), and I am 4-5 times more likely for clots than most people. My problem is going back on Ziac. I was off it for 30 days for the tests and felt so much better. No real side effects, just felt better off it. I want another option than Ziac. Hello I started taking Ziac 30mg the lower strength 0ctober 25th, because I'm 5'1 and was 173lbs gained 20lbs after having my son. I was to take 1 pill every morning before breakfast. Side effect: it made me very hyper and energetic, some times moodier than usual, very allert, i had headaches the 1st 2 days beyond that no additional negative side effects. but everyones different so know ur body and pay attention to it! :). i did change my diet, i eat more fibers like oatmeal or cereal (cheerios) for breakfast at the recommended portion size on the box, a fruit in between breakfast and lunch. during lunch i ate fast food someday :) like mcdonalds but something small no big macs! salads or some healthy choice low cal meal from the grocery store. i ate snacks sometime but not daily if so it was yogart or more fruit. and dinner i ate whatever i wanted in a smaller portioned size. ill be honest i get icecream like every other week or an iced coffee every other week. lol. i did wrkout 2-3times per week 100 crunches, 20 side leg lifts 25 pushups and 50 squats. i lost 12 lbs. now weighing 161 so i think the pill worked pretty well especially considering it was lower dose and i didnt take daily (im forgetful) i still have 13 pills leftover. 5'4 205. Starting weight 220.In the first month I lost 10 lbs. This is month 2 and I've only lost 5. Not exercising just eating smaller and more healthy portions since I'm never really hungry. I also make sure to eat breakfast to jump start my metabolism. I think that's how I was able to lose 10 in the first month. Trying to lose weight for my Aug wedding.
