I've been taking this purple poison for 7 years. In the beginning had severe heart burn, chest pain, nausea, constant feeling of hunger. Tums helped a little and then GI diagnosed hiatal hernia, erosive esophagus, prescribed nexium. It works and i cannot get off this poison. Symptoms return immediately if i miss one day. 40mg every day or alternate 40-20-40 if i can get my hands on 20mg. Gained weight, 65lbs overweight, appetite is still not under control so i eat small meals often. GI can't explain weight gain but says some ppl gain wt. I also get panic attacks, although not every day and only in situations that call for panic. Have developed depression, anxiety, constant fatigue, still occasional nausea, rare but very severe vomiting every 2-3 years (can happen, according to my GI). Not sure if side effects of nexium or because i'm stuck with it for the rest of my life. Taking Citrical because PPI blocks calcium absorption. Who knows what else is not getting into my body because of nexium. GI is against PPI, recommends surgery. Fundo is very risky, irreversible, for those who suffer same condition. I don't know how i'll be able to afford this purple crap for the rest of my life. AstraZeneca has got us hooked on this pill. i have been on generic Super Active ED Pack for about 3 weeks now. my depression is essentially gone but i do still have quite a bit of anxiety, for which I take lorazepam as needed. i also take a low dose of trazadone at night to help me sleep, otherwise my anxiety still keeps me up. my loss of sex drive is not as bad as it was when i was on Lexapro several years ago but is slightly decreased and it is difficult for me to orgasm. i also had a horrible break out on my face - i have had completely clear skin my whole life. but it seems to have gone away for now. i hope it takes its full effect by 6 weeks or i may ask my doctor to go up in dose to help the anxiety. by NORBERT from Aquilla, TX
DANGEROUS, SELF HARMING, & NOT WORTH THE RISK OF SIDE EFFECTS!!!I have had many a sleepless night since the recent death of my grandmother & it has gotten worse since my grandfather is ill & passing also. My endocrinologist gave me the script for Ambian with rave reviews, like it would be the cure-all drug for my sleepless nights. Well, I have to say that by nature I am easy going & don't have a mean bone in me. But, that changed within 30 minutes of taking the pill. I became Aggitated, Aggressive, violent & belidgerant all at once. I have no memory of a 6 hour span. Thank God I was home with my sisters & neice. With their watchful eyes & amazing control, they prevented me from self harm with kitchen knives, driving my car, & falling over the porch railing!! I even tried to smoke a plastic straw & I don't even smoke!!! Not to mention trying to clean out the medicine cabinet with old, expired meds & possibly taking them!! Lastly, I tried to wash sheets & make the bed again with my sister in-law still in the bed! My family debated on calling 911 & rushing me to the hospital to have my stomach pumped. I seriously think if they had doctors would have had "just cause" for commiting me to the insane asylum! Mind you I only know all this because the details were given to me the next morning. All I could do was cry. I was so scared & embarrased. This medication is DANGEROUS, AWFUL & NOT WORTH THE RISK!!!! I plan to add this medication to my list of allergies.
