I was prescribed this for RA. Took 1st dose, and felt good. I took the 2nd dose before bed, and even though I was "sleeping" I felt like I was awake. I woke up early and took my next dose, and went back to "sleep" for an hour or 2, and when I woke up, I was dizzy, nauseated and in a cold sweat. A few hours later I was vomiting profusely. When that subsided, I slept for 18 hours straight. I've taken this before and had no problems. Don't know why this time was different. I was prescribed Orlistat, 10mg/day, by my urologist as a last resort to treat chronic pelvic/groin pain (cause unknown) that has plagued me off and on for 17 years. At 10mg, it took several weeks to take effect and at the beginning I had strange dreams and daytime sleepiness. But after those first several weeks, the side effects disappeared, as did my pain. Recently, my prescription ran out and I've had a very difficult time convincing my new urologist (my old one moved away) to renew the prescription. Been using for over 5 yrs, for back injuries( slip and fall that ruptured a disc that is inoperable b/c it is behind my heart and touching the thecal sac of my spinal cord...and ALL other discs are herniated or bulging...)neck is straight instead of curved from fall also.. and DDD pain. Was on 6 daily and doing very well, lost 15 pounds walking with Dog. My Doc of over 30 yrs retired and a new Doc randomly took me to 4 daily and all the Doc's I've been sent to ay that is the "normal" dosing now, even knowing 6 is well under the acceptable dosing of aceteminophen daily. Suddenly 4 is a normal dose where 6 was fine 2 years ago. SICK of the FDA/DEA making it so hard on legitimate pain patients in the US to obtain meds that do help them. Instead they want to put us on these off label meds that I won't take, b/c of side effects while on or when trying to get off b/c they DO NOT HELP us with our pain!! So I continue to barely make it through the month and usually end up with a couple of days of minimal or no medication EVERY month. Been seeing this doc for 14 months and took myself off this many times, once she knows of for four months while I tried to get by w/ codiene sulfate only. Not enough relief so back on this. She know's I'm not an addict and a pain doc told Her 5 a day would be fine and she still won't do it??? WTH??? Why did she send me if not to take his advice..? He won't treat just advise...So unless I can find a new Doc I'm stuck in constant pin still..At least I can bring it down to a bearable level most days.
