I have recently been diagnosed as BP2. Put on lamotrigine. I have been on this medication for about 6 months. Started w/ the generic, and felt it was actually making me more depress ... crying all the time ... anxiety-Had pdoc switch me to the brand ... no better ... got a rash at 150mg- it was benign but itchy. Still crying fits continued - had a melt down at work (never had that happen before. I am up to 200mg. I am sure it is the med. I demanded my pdoc take me off ... I currently titrating off and will try something else. I'm bum that this so call wonder drug is not working for me ... this is all so new to me ... I was put on this med as a mood controller for my Bipolar.I take 300mg at night.If I don't take it within an hour of when I took it the night before I get a bad headache.I also get sharp pains through the left side of my head after taking almost every night.The Dr. tried to put me on additional 300mg in the morning but it left me fuctionless.Tried it for 4 days and all that I know about that time is what my family has told me.The Dr. then dropped me back to just my night dose.I don't know that its working compeletly but I guess something is better than nothing.I haven't tried to physically hurt my husband since I have been on this but i still have anger issues.Dr told me that this would make me emotionalless.And it did the 4 days that I took a morning and night dose. by ANDRES from Conception Junction, MO
For over 15 years, I suffered severe head pain with my monthly period. In just the last two years, I developed an auroa prior to the start of my period. I would smell a constant sooty smell. It was to the point I was having severe panic attacks. I was put on 25mg and did help a little, but was put to 50mg and worked great! However, I am now suffering from numbness and tingling and soreness in my toes. This feeling is to the point I can't sleep. Just today, they lowered my dosage back to the 25mg.
