Want to say first I have not used this drug yet, but I know my dr. is going to try to put me on it, I have fibromyalgia. But after reading all these posts I am not going to go on it. The side effects I had from 10 days of Savella were bad and I don't want to go thru it again and take the risks mentioned in these posts. I would rather just take pain relievers, even if vicadan. Had to ask, though, why people give 3-5 stars, if it helped them but they had terrible experiences with side effects. If you have to go off of it, then maybe give lower rating, or it leads to misleading conclusions. I am apalled by dangerous side effects and will not let my dr. talk me into it. Thanks to everyone for posting and helping me make this decision. I don't just do what dr.s tell me anymore; they have hurt me too often, and made mistakes on me too often. I have lyme and didn't trust the low reading but took the drug anyway. Made me hyper and edgy and 'out of control' after only 2 weeks. Do not recommend by RONNY from Negaunee, MI

I was up to 800mg. One of the biggest problems was getting up and getting to work on time. I have been written up so many times. Then there is the weight gain. Over the two years I was taking it I gain over 60 lbs. I started tapering off in December and am glad to report I have lost 16 lbs. I no longer have cravings for carbs. I do feel a little more anxiety but I'm taking xanax to try to help with that. It's not the same but at least I'm no longer blowing up like a blimp. I used the tapered dose pack and stopped after the 2nd pill on the 4th day because of acute shortness of breath, stomach & esophagus pain,darker stool & swelling of legs,ankles & feet. On the up side ALL of my osteoarthritis pain was gone from shoulders, both hands & knees plus lower back for 13 days so far. The problem is my history of bleeding ulcers in the esophagus.
