I took this medication twice a day for five days for a very painful UTI that had been building up for three days prior. Because there seems to be a tendency for those with negative responses to give reviews, I thought I should add my review. I gave 4 stars to ease of use only because I was warned always to take it after a meal which I did. I had only one very brief period of nausea after a dose on the second day. It took only two days to be past any bothersome symptoms. I was just retested 5 days after completing the meds and am clear. This is a serious antibiotic and should not be taken lightly but when your body is closing down your ability to urinate, I would not hesitate to take this again. be very careful,your doctor may not warn you of the side effects and withdrawal symptoms. after 5 weeks of taking pristiq at 50 mg. my blood pressure shot through the roof and it felt as if my head was going to pop off...i was never told when i stopped taking it i was going to be withdrawing very bad...throwing up not eating and i could not even lift my head without throwing up not to mention the throbbing pain from my neck to the tip of my head..my blood pressure remained sky high. only after googeling the drug did i find out it was addicting. by FAUSTO from Mount Wolf, PA
