I was prescribed increasing amount of dosage up to 80mg. As a result, I had rhabdomyolosis and almost died. Simvastatin may work for some people, and it did reduce my LDL and trglycerides, but I am unable to take any "statin" drugs as a result. However, there are other ways to reduce cholestrol including proper diet and other non-statin drugs.
