This is a fabulous drug for those who suffer from panic attacks and generalized anxiety. Keeps me functioning daily. Unfortunately after being on it for 2 years I became totally dependant. After titrating off of 2mg's daily I suffer severe panic attacks frequently over the next 9 mos. and finally had to switch doctors to get back on it. Feeling great now, but am on 3mg's daily. I have been taking this medication (40 mg.) for about 5 months in conjunction with Lexapro (40 mg.)and I think it's working pretty well. I seem to have more focus and I can move from task to task better than before. It is not a miracle drug!!! but it has helped. It is weird though, I can take my dose and literally sleep throughout the day. i have lost about 20 lbs. which I did want to do. I've been taking this medication for years. I have many bad disks, spurs, degenerative disease, etc. To many things wrong with my back to do surgery. I can hardly walk. I had to have surgery on both of my arms due to my diabetes. When I went into the hospital the doctor had given me a script for the same script I had except a stronger dose. My primary doctor got wind of this and let me go from the practice. I've been on this for so many years, never had a problem like this. I live in a small community and now no doctor will see me. I'm devistated how this went down. Everyone knows me and they know how much I suffer. Five years ago I had to close down my diner because of the pain. If they wanted to try me on another medication I would've been open to that, but they didn't even do that. Been using this drug for about 6 weeks. The first 2 weeks it would put me to sleep within 30 minutes of ingesting. At its best I slept soundly for no more than 3 1/2 hours. Side effects of nasal congestion (really aggravates my chronic, bilateral, maxillary sinusitis)and dry mouth are really annoying and not worth the limited benefit of Imitrex. I had been on lorazepam and ambien previously. I have tried lorazepam with Imitrex but the "hangover effect" is unacceptable. Gonna look for a better medication. by CARMELO from Schaghticoke, NY
