I've been on risperdal ever since I developed schizophrenia and its been moderately helpful with managing my symptoms. The medication significantly reduced my hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and stuttering. But it did nothing to help my social anxiety/ impairment. The only side effects were weight gain. I started the medication at 165 and now after three years I'm at 220. I have been on Beclate Inhaler for 18 months and it has caused numerous secondary diseases and side-effects; diabetes, thrush, weight gain. It has done nothing to change my condition, sarcoidosis in my right lung. I was taken off of it too fast - from 10mg to 5 mg to zero and I ended up in the hospital in severe pain, hallucinating, freezing cold. I am back on it, which relieved the symptoms of withdrawal. I wish I had never started taking this drug. It did not improve my initial condition, it has permanently damaged me, and it is difficult to withdraw from. This drugs sucks. Makes you sleep but give you terrible dreams. Have gained 50lbs in 2 months while increasing my daily activity. Don't want to get up in the morning. Makes you feel worse as the side effects say. So if you like to sleep and dont care about your weight or the rest of your life take it..
