Fybermyalga is no fun, so far nothing helps after 6 months. I was started an lyrica a week ago. don't like the way it makes me feel. Switched to once at night. That made a world of difference. Now if my body would adjust I will be able to go back to twice a day. Areas that were numb are coming back with feeling, after 8 years thats really strange. I havent been on this med in 2 years, and i only took it for about a week (i was prescribed it at the hospital right after I had my son for post partium depression). Anyways, they started me out taking 1/2, once everyother day for 4 days, then take 1 a day (to build it up in my system). Well, two days after i started taking a whole pill, i guess it built up enough in my system because i had a MAJOR reaction to it. My husband thought that i was high or something (and i felt it), i couldn't take care of my week old son, i felt terrible and just wanted to die. We couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, but luckily my mother-in-law was also on it and had kept the paper explaining the effects of an allergic reaction. I was shaking uncontrolably, felt as though i couldn't breath, wasn't able to hold myself up, it was bad. Anyways, my hasband took me to the hospital, they left me in the waiting room for 2 hours and i just got worse. We ended up leaving to go to another hospital, and on the way drop our son of to his sister. She called the ambulance to meet us at her house, and when we pulled up, i got out of the car and ended up falling on the ground (basically blacked out). The ambulance showed up right after and put me in and gave me that epie pen shot. It helped instantly. Anyways, i'm not writing this to say that it's a bad med (it worked wonders for my mother-in-law), I'm just writing this to warn people to watch out for a reaction and to get to the hospital immediatally if you feel off like that. I had major bowel surgery 12-27-01. Got infection while in hospital sent home 1 week later. Came back had to have 2 major lung operations a week a part resulting from infection. 2800 mgs daily.
