I have been on this medication for eleven years (since I was sixteen). Initially, I did not notice a difference. However, I have attempted to ween myself off of it over the years (which I do NOT recommend without doctor's consent) and after two weeks, I noticed that without it I am not able to think as clearly, I am very irritable, and I consistenly see the glass as half empty. I have been taking Phentermine for about 2 years now on/off. Let me tell you, after the first time I took it I lost 50lbs in 3 months, I continued to take it for another 2 months but it became ineffective, I built a tolerance to it. Once I stopped I gained 75lbs back. (Yes the 50 I lost +15lbs). I started taking this again in March at 248lbs and I am 5’1 and in an effort to get the weight off quickly, I cut my calorie intake DRAMMATICALLY (1000/day). Bad Idea. I only lost about 5 lbs in a month. You have to remember that you have to take in enough calories to get your body off of starvation mode so that your body does not store fat and exercise. In the past month and a half I have actually increased my calorie intake to 1700 and noticed the weight dropping off. I have lost 14lbs with a total of 19lbs since March. I had my thyroid testing done yesterday because I am still very sluggish, the doctor said if everything comes out normal, he will put me on B-12 injections as well as the Phentermine. I have tried a few statins before trying Standard ED Pack (Brand). I could not take any of the other statins for longer than 2 weeks. I had pain throughout my body. Tried Standard ED Pack (Brand) in a low dose (10mg). In 6 weeks I started getting same problems with pain. I am tired, don't feel like working out, weak, irritable. My joints hurt and I feel weak in general. Another thing, I think it has lowered my testosterone levels. The hair on my legs is falling out. I don't know that my testosterone levels are down but I feel like it. I just feel terribly weak with low self confidence because I am lethargic in general these days.
