Famvir did help my depression/anxiety problems and may have helped my muscle pain but it gave me a rash. I got small round red patches that skin would crust over like a scab and flake off of and if I did not use clotrimizole on it, it got redder and redder til it would bleed. It itched and was painful. Unfortunately, the cause wasn't obvious, and for years I suffered with this. I went to 4 dermatologists who acted like they knew just what it was but their prescription didn't work. They all said not to use clomitrizole but it was my only relief. Finally, Dr. tried to increase my dose of cymbalta from 30 to 60, and then to 90 and the rash was worse than ever, and the lightbulb finally went on above my head. I stopped taking cymbalta very gradually because it reeked havoc with my stomache with each tiny bit I decreased. The rash was gone for the first time in years I didn't have one of those painful itchy spots. I was without the rash for 3 months when my depression problems came back. I tried cymbalta again and the rash came back worse than ever. I hope this helpful to anyone with skin problems of any kind. Test for yourself and don't put all your faith in doctors telling you it has nothing to do with your meds. And read side effects and warnings in more than one place.
