Have been taking this drug off and on for over 10 years & find it both "somewhat" & "extremely" helpful - it is somewhat helpful with the muscle spams, but I've also been having lots of problems with acid in my stomach caused by stress. After refilling and taking this medication for only a day or two, my acid problems went away. I also like it because I can take it at work & it doesn't make me too sleepy. I'm clear-headed and can function with no problem. I've read the reviews that say people are experiencing hallucinations. My dosage was extremely low at 5 mg, as my Dr. put it "just a tiny little pill". After using this for 6 weeks it has lowered my Bp to 128/73 from 138/90. Not a great accomplishment, but better. It seems to act as a diuretic. The problem has been that I developed strong pains during the night in my chest, very alarming. Also, discoloration and weakening of nails. Lastly, I awoke the other night with a bad chest pain and shortness of breath. I thought maybe having a stroke? EKG showed no circultory system damage, thankfully. The Dr. swithched my meds to Diovan 160 mg, and after 4 days I am experiencing lower back pain- I think I am stopping it. I've been on Biovaxine which has phitonutrients and Bp lowering nutrients. I am 53 years old. I discovered my cholesterol was high at a routine physical. I have taken Deltasone for about 6 months. 3 weeks ago I started have burning in my right foot which then went into my leg and now is in both feet and legs and to my knees. I was in the emergancy room twice and also to an orthopedic MD. I gave each doctor a full list of the meds I am on. No one said anything about the possible relationship of peripherial neuropathy due to zocor. I starte researching statins on line and was shocked to see the side effects of which neuropathy was one.
