My mother who is 69 years old has schizophrenia, and has been taking Ablify 5mgs she has been on it for a few years and her symptoms seamed to lower taking this drug but on Christmas day she has be acting strang and was taken to the ER they Did a CAT on her and she had a stroke. After looking up all the side effects on this med, she has them all. Stroke, heart prob, high blood pressure weight gain, lack of sleep, blured vision. I am putting 2 & 2 together and it has to be this poison that the doctor has put her on. She is still in the hospital and will stay for a while, thank God she did not die. I was given Abilify for pain relief from shingles. I was prescribed 50mg twice a day, however, I was only able to take it once. I could not function at all. I was out of it. It did take the pain away but not sure if thats because I was in a coma like state or if it really did work. I hate the drunk feeling from many pain medications so I did not use it again.
