My Doctor prescribed this medication to treat osteoarthritis in my lower neck. The joints were inflammed, and I could barely turn my head without pain. My neck and shoulders were stiff- tensed up to protect the inflammed joint. On about day 3 of the rmg dose pack I could still feel the tenderness, and knot in my neck when turning my head, but the paid was much less. I am on day 5 now, and I can turn my head fully to the side. I hope when I am finished, after tomorrow the joint doesn't just swell back up. I have been very lucky with this medication. Prescribed to quit smoking, it has been successful. The first 3-4 days caused side effects (mood swings,and my lips felt like I ate a whole bag of potatoe chips immediately after taking the pill.) Once I started taking it two times a day (day 4)side effects seemed to diminish. I do crave a cigarette from time to time but immediately it dissipates and I have gained weight. I have hated being on cumnadin. I have experienced side effects that included very cold in the winter to very hot in the summer. I am losing my hair and it is suspected that my thyroid func. and nodule on my thyriod was greatly effected by this medication. I have had to take it for 6 mos. due to a post-surgical partial blood clot.
