I had previously put a review on the post for this drug but after finishing the 6 pack of this med I have had several problems. I was doing great until the fourth day and then the side effects began, terrible tummy pains, sweating, constant urinating which made by bladder sore. I had to continue taking this drug until the end. On the last day the pains were just horrible - it has now been two days since I finished this drug and I am still having trouble and it did not clear up my sinus problem. I was hit in my car by a drunk hit and run accident in 2000. I have been on several medications that never worked until now. My pain was so bad from all of my injuries ( in hospital for 9 months) that last year I found a lump in my breast and didn't tell anyone because I wanted it to spread and finally end the pain by death. I am not suicidal and didn't really want to die but I couldn't take the pain anymore. I did end up telling my Husband and followed up with my breast problem and found it was nothing. Two months ago I tried another PM Doctor and she put me on 30mg. of Oxy 3 times a day. Previously I had been on Methadone for 8 yrs. I didn't realize what a fog I was in from the methadone until I became awake and aware from the Oxy. I have little pain now and oh brother, my life has changed for the better. It has made me a normal person again. I have no side effects and am so much clearer. My Husband is also thankful I found this wonderful Doctor. She really cares and helps me. I am taking the 30mg and they work for 8 hrs. They are not instant release and short acting. At leasr mine are not. Does anyone else find 30mg. long lasting?? Every month I am afraid she will take me off of it. I take it as prescribed and will not fool around with it. I'd appreciate any input or suggestions. The general agreement seems to be that there are several side effects associated with the use of Staxyn. These, I found became less noticeable after I had been on it for approx. 9 months. Likewise, this is also when I noted the greatest reduction in my migraines. So, for those of you that are not suffering from extreme adverse reactions, try and stick it out. Your food should taste good again, your extremities should basically only tingle when they are cold or asleep, and you may learn to deal with your lapses of memory without much fuss.
