It has made me more depressed and it's not easy to get off because it is time-released. It has terrible side effects while on the medication, as well as when trying to get off it. It should be outlawed in my opinion. Even the manufacturer cannot give a safe and effective way of weaning off the drug. I am trying to get off of it and the side effects are horrible! I am having terrible side effects while on it too. Depressed more, can't sleep, itchy skin, blurred vision, terrible memory loss, just to name the most severe. I have seizures and Lamictal has helped a lot with them. I'm not sure why people like xanax so much. I am prescribed the maximum allowed by the government, but I hardly take it. I have been on this drug for about 10 years now and it has helped me out in so many ways. I would like to stop taking this medication because of the cost and not having insurance, it is too expenisive for me. I have read horror stories after horror storys about the withdrawl systems and I am scared to go off it now. I wish my doctor would have warned me of this effect before putting me on this drug. This is the only medication that has worked for me for chronic Neuropathic pain. I have been a pain patient for ten years, taken many different medications (including NSAIDS which ruined my stomach and SSRI's which made me sick as a dog). Without this medication, I would be bedridden instead of functional.
